The Rainbow Covey
Asher is an orphan who lives in a twilit village, inhabited by regular citizens during the day and the undead at night. Asher's main goal in life is to be able to go about his business without being targeted by bullies--until one day they beat him up and leave him in the streets, unconscious, after the six-o'clock bell. During the attack on him by the dead, Asher learns that he isn't quite ordinary; he possesses the power of the color black and, as such, is the castoff from the Rainbow Covey, an group of magicians led by The White, who have now disbanded and scattered. Asher, who can now turn into a bat because of his powers, flies away from the twilight, but with a strange sorcerer still on his tail, targeting him for his abilities. During his travels, Asher begins to learn the truth of the Rainbow Covey, the twilight, the dead, and the reason that The White has been forever imprisoned in her cloister.
The Rainbow Covey is intended for Middle Grade/Young Adult readers.
